  • The Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) on Board ESA’s ENVISAT provides spectral high resolution image data in the visible-near infrared spectral region (412-900 nm) at a spatial resolution of 300 m. For more details on ENVISAT and MERIS see http://envisat.esa.int/ This product developed in the frame of the MAPP project (MERIS Application and Regional Products Projects) represents the chlorophyll concentration of Lake Constance derived from MERIS data. The product is a cooperative effort of DLR-DFD and the Institute for Coastal Research at the GKSS Research Centre Geesthacht. DFD pre-processed up to the value added level whenever MERIS data for the North Sea region was received and positively checked for a water area large enough for a suitable interpretation. For more details the reader is referred to http://wdc.dlr.de/sensors/meris/ and http://wdc.dlr.de/sensors/meris/documents/Mapp_ATBD_final_i3r0dez2001.pdf This product provides 10-days maps.

  • The GEMStat Dashboard visualizes the water quality of global water bodies on different spatial and temporal scales, based on data from the GEMStat Database . Available data includes the parameters dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, phosphorus and pH, all core parameters of the UN SDG 6.3.2 water quality indicator. The data are voluntarily provided by countries and organizations worldwide within the framework of the GEMS/Water Programme of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) .

  • Hydrography of Germany, derived from the german digital landscape model at scale 1:250000. Mapped via EuroRegionalMap to satisfy INSPIRE and European Location Framework conformance. The dataset contains the hydrographic network and physical waters and is available as Open Data.

  • The GEMStat Data Portal provides access to freshwater quality data and statistical vizualisations at different spatial scales. The data are voluntarily provided by countries and organizations worldwide within the framework of the GEMS/Water Programme of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) .

  • The Global WaterPack is a dataset containing information about open surface water cover parameters on a global scale. The water detection is derived from daily, operational MODIS datasets for every year since 2003. The negative effects of polar darkness and cloud coverage are compensated by applying interpolation processing steps. Thereby, a unique global dataset can be provided that is characterized by its high temporal resolution of one day and a spatial resolution of 250 meter. This collection includes monthly composites of the dataset with information on how often a pixel was detected as open surface water with pixel values between 0 and 31. Furthermore, a reliability layer provides information on the quality of each Global WaterPack pixel.

  • The digital terrain model of waterways for the estuary of river Elbe (DGM-W 2022) in high resolution based on airborne laser scanning and echo sounder data is produced and published by the German Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes, WSV). The data includes the Outer Elbe and the tidally influenced tributaries and branches of the Elbe estuary upstream to the town Geesthacht. The data is available in a raster resolution of 1 meter. Coordinate reference system: EPSG 25852, ETRS89 / UTM Zone 32N Elevation reference system: DHHN2016, NHN Survey methods: Airborne laser scanning (ALS) 02.04.2022 - 19.04.2022 Multibeam echo sounder, single beam echo sounder 09.02.2017 - 09.04.2023
